GXCC XML Pages |
This link points to a ZIP file containing the essential components of the GXCC Members Information pages. This ZIP contains only the XML pages and the folders containing other directly related items such as the icons and images used by the XML pages. If you want to explore XML, and the way in which it is converted via XSLT transforms into HTML, and the way in which Cascading Stylesheets are then used to present the data in the browser, then this set of documents can provide a working example. Download the zip file and expand it into a folder of your choosing. There will be an HTML file, index.html, in the root of the folder. Clicking on this file should then open the main club support page in your browser. From there the XML pages should be accessible. This zip file will be updated from time to time to reflect the current site. This process has now been semi-automated exploiting SyncBack to make is easier and more reliable. Note that Internet Explorer will open local files but Chrome will not without changing some settings. This is a security feature of Chrome. The contributor has not tried this with other browsers. |
